Fishing

Stocked regularly with Rainbow Trout, our Main fishing lake offers both Fly and Bait fishing, with rods and equipment available for hire.

We are open every day from 9.00am until dusk and we have no time limit on our daily ticket.

Whether you're a Dad who wants to go fishing with the kids or a keen fly angler who wants a peaceful evening session you're sure to get what you want at Rathbeggan Lakes.

Fishing ticket is €15 per person , and you can release all you catch, or take fish if you choose at €4 per pound. Maximum number of fish per angler is 4. If you want more, head for your local fishmongers!

We hire both bait rods and fly rods at just €5 per rod, although under 12's get their rod free with their ticket!

We fish with barbless single hooks, and we don't allow spinning or groundbaiting! You are welcome to bring your own rod and our friendly staff will advise you on setups and depths.

Rathbeggan Lakes is proud to offer The Learn To Fish program to all new anglers. This program is an introduction to the fun sport of fishing, where the beginner angler will learn about water safety, our ecosystem, fishing principles, our country code and catch and release then followed up with a hands on competition.

Each participant receives a Learn To Fish hat and T-Shirt along with a goodie bag containing items from Inland Fisheries Ireland and other goodies.

Learn To Fish only accommodates thirty participants per session so call the lodge
