GROUP FUN ACTIVITIES
Team Building Workshops
Hens & Stags, Schools, Corporate Groups, Sports Clubs and Associations
Our brand new range of team tasks is the ultimate in result driven team building. Here at Rathbeggan Lakes we have created mentally and physically challenging team tasks that require co-operation and excellent communication from a team and the strengths of individual members will be revealed. Our tasks and puzzles will require wits, ability to think outside of the box, team work, leadership and communication to deliver the right solutions.
Team exercises can be exciting and fun – but what is truly important is an effective environment for learning and suitable facilitation. Through experiential learning we will provide participants the opportunity to understand and recognise how the dynamics of a team can affect the work place.
Benefits of Team Building Workshops:

CRATE STACK -A TEST OF BALANCE, CO-ORDINATION AND NERVE!
Another exciting team event designed for up to four people. Crate Stack is a test of balance and co-ordination. You are attached to a wire suspended above via a rope and work either alone or in pairs. Your objective is to stack as many milk crates underneath you as you possibly can and to build your tower as high as possible! If working in pairs you must put the ultimate trust in your partner, balancing yourselves delicately and positioning the crates with care underneath you.
Your challenge is to climb to the top of a 8m pole reaching a tiny platform. The next step is to try and stand up on this tiny platform using all your coordination and balance. Once on top you will see a Trapeze bar hanging down a number of metres away. Your final challenge is to build up the courage to leap off and catch the trapeze! Feel the relief as you are lowered safely to the ground.
A delicate balancing act for you and your friends. All aboard is a classic exercise in trust and is designed to encourage teamwork and communication. Climb the 8m pole to access a small platform, balance yourself precariously at the top and then make room for a further 3 people! One by one your friends now join you on the platform, which is barely big enough for one person, Now that you’re all standing on the top,8m in the air, if you have the nerve, put the ultimate trust in your friends; hold each other’s hands and lean back.
A classic team event that uses a giant-sized ladder suspended from two 12m poles. Jacob’s Ladder is a true test of co-operation, balance, co-ordination and a degree of strength. The rungs of this giant ladder are spaced approximately 5ft apart. Your challenge is to work effectively with your partners using good communication and team work and help each other reach the top. Our instructors are happy(sometimes only) to give you extra kit as an aid, if you require it, in order to help you reach the top.
Individual challenge, the balance Act comprises two wires fixed across two vertical poles. One beam is approximately 4m (13ft) off the floor whilst the other beam is a more daring 10m (33ft). Your challenge is to climb up to the first wire and then using co-ordination and balance walk across this wire to the other side. Do you have what it takes to go to the next level? If so, climb even higher to the second wire and once again, balancing delicately walk across to the other side. Once you’ve reached the other side you’re almost done, but not quite. Your instructor will ask you to make a final walk back to the middle of the pole and then ask you to lean backwards in order to be lowered safely down to the ground! A personal challenge that requires nerves of steel!
Improvised raft building is one of our most popular activities. Working with your team members you must design and build your raft from the materials provided. After a brief MOT by your instructor, if lake-worthy, your raft is launched and raced against other rafts within your group. This activity is suitable for all ages and is equally suitable for any group, whether it’s a fun day or a more in depth team building event.
Raft Building is one of our all time favourite activities. It is great fun and suitable for a wide variety of groups ranging from children’s birthday parties to corporate team building. The session begins with groups working together in teams to design and construct their rafts from the equipment provided. Once completed the rafts are launched into the lake, and providing they don’t collapse, are raced across the lake! Please bring footwear for the water and a change of clothing.
